Government, Industry and Academia: Working Together to Advance the Technology Workforce

(UPDATED) Keynote by: Jennifer James,   Undersecretary for Workforce Development

Industry Keynote by: Jim Wilkinson, Vice President of Engineering at Applied Materials/Varian Semiconductor Equipment in Gloucester

This is the second in our ongoing advocacy event series to engage industry, government, academia, and non-profit organizations in building our region's technology workforce, in order to strengthen the region North of Boston as a leader in technology, life sciences, sustainable energy, manufacturing, and other critical technology industries.

Following our successful May 2022 event and report, we are excited to reconvene for a policy-focused forum with regional legislators to:

  • share progress on initiatives developed through last year's event
  • learn about the Healey Administration's efforts to promote technology-focused workforce development
  • hear from regional business leaders
  • discuss with area legislators how best to advocate for resources and policy changes that will grow our regional technology workforce and strengthen our regional competitiveness

Tours of Essex Tech training facilities will be offered after the speaking program.
